Nigeria’s Super Falcons will take on Tanzania in an international friendly today, Thursday as part of preparations for the defence of their Women’s Africa Cup of Nations title.
The warm-up game will kick off at the La Noria Sports Complex in Casablanca, Morocco at 6:00 p.m.
The encounter will provide head coach Justine Madugu with a final opportunity to assess his squad’s readiness ahead of the continental tournament.
There are currently 23 players in camp with only Gift Monday and Deborah Abiodun missing. They are expected today to arrive today.
The Super Falcons were initially scheduled to play the Black Queens of Ghana in a friendly last Saturday, but the match was called off due to unforeseen circumstances.
Nigeria will travel to Rabat this weekend, where they will play their Group C matches at the tournament.
The 10-time African champions will begin the defence of their WAFCON title against the Scorchers of Malawi at the Al Madina Stadium, Rabat on Tuesday next week.
Their second game is against the Copper Queens of Zambia on the 1st of August before taking on Egypt in their final group game on the 5th of August
The 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations will begin on Sunday the 26th of July with Algeria taking on Senegal in Group A. Later in the day, hosts Morocco will battle Kenya in another Group A encounter
