Nigerian champions, Edo Queens Football Club of Benin will begin their campaign at the 2026 WAFU B, CAF Women’s Champions League Qualifiers on Monday when they take on AS Garde Nationale of Niger Republic in the opening match of Group B.
Kickoff time is 7pm Nigerian time at the Stade 4 AOUT stadium, Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso.
The Nigeria Women Football League Premiership champions who won the WAFU B Championship in 2024, are confident ahead of the encounter.
Bendel Insurance coach, Kennedy Boboye who will manage Edo Queens at the tournament in the absence of coach Moses Aduku who is busy with Nigeria’s Falgonets as they prepare for the FIFA Under-20 Women’s World Cup has assured that the team will do their best in the competition.
Edo Queens captain, Deborah Odiagbe has also assured fans that the team is fully ready for the challenge.
The other teams in Group B are Ampem Darkoa of Ghana and ASEC Mimosas of Cote D’ivoire.
Edo Queens will battle ASEC Mimosas on Thursday before confronting Ampem Darkoa in their final group game on Sunday.
Meanwhile, in the first game of the tournament played yesterday in Group A, hosts, USFA of Burkina Faso thrashed Dynamique FC de Calavi of Benin Republic 3-0.
The goals were scored by Assanatou Nako, Déborah Guira, and Stéphanie Sow.
ASKO FC of Togo are the third team in Group A
