Men of the Medium Security Custodial Centre, Ibara, Abeokuta, Ogun State, have arrested a woman for attempting to smuggle substances suspected to be a psychoactive drug into the correctional facility.
Public Relations Officer, of the Nigerian Correctional Service, Ogun State Command, Odukoya Olayinka disclosed that the suspect was arrested on Friday, during a routine screening at the entrance of the custodial centre.
The suspect had reportedly visited an inmate, who is classified as an inmate on death row, when correctional officers discovered a sachet of Milo beverage allegedly containing substances suspected to be colos.
Odukoya said following her arrest, the suspect was handed over to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency for further investigation and possible prosecution, in accordance with established procedures.
