EDO STATE GOVERNMENT MOVES TO ADDRESS LAWLESSNESS AROUND RING-ROAD

The Edo state Government has vowed to take a decisive action against commercial bus drivers, traders and touts who have turned parts of the Ring Road into make-shift motor parks and markets.

The Commissioner for Culture, Tourism and Creative Economy, Chris Okaeben, stated this at the September edition of the monthly press briefing organised by the Ministry of Information and Strategy in Benin City on Wednesday.

Okaeben said the government would not allow activities that deface the city and create disorder in the state capital to continue unchecked.

The Commissioner’s comments come amid growing concerns over traffic obstruction, indiscriminate trading and the use of public spaces as illegal motor parks around the Ring Road axis.
