
Niving on, the Igbo Community Union, Edo State Chapter, has commended Governor Monday Okpebholo for nominating Honourable Anayochukwu Oli, an Enugu State indigene resident in Edo State, as commissioner-designate.
The union described the decision as a historic demonstration of inclusive governance and recognition of the contributions of Ndi Igbo to the state’s development.
The commendation was made during a press briefing held by the union following Governor Okpebholo’s recent transmission of Honourable Oli’s name to the Edo State House of Assembly for confirmation as commissioner.
President of the Igbo Community Union, Chief Samson Awiaka, said Governor’ Okpebholo’s action is unprecedented and reflected the governor’s commitment to inclusiveness.
Also speaking, the Igbo Woman Leader in Edo State, Okechukwu Victoria, described the nomination as a historic event and praised Governor Okpebholo for his fairness, simplicity and inclusive leadership
The development will mark the first time an Igbo man will hold commissionership position in Edo State.
