American streamer and content creator Darren Watkins Jr., popularly known as IShowSpeed, delivered a live performance of his song, \u201cChampions,\u201d during the closing ceremony of the 2026 FIFA World Cup final on Sunday in New York.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The internet personality took centre stage before a packed crowd at the New York New Jersey Stadium, performing the high-energy track to fans from around the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dressed in a white suit, IShowSpeed led a large troupe of backup dancers in colourful tracksuits during the roughly three-minute performance, which featured marching drummers, synchronized choreography and large-scale visual projections across the pitch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The ceremony also included pyrotechnics, smoke effects and aerial displays.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Clips of the performance quickly circulated across social media, with many describing the appearance as a major milestone in IShowSpeed\u2019s career, which has grown from football-themed streaming content to music.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The performance comes weeks after IShowSpeed released Champions a self-acclaimed and unofficial World Cup anthem that generated widespread attention online.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The music video, released on YouTube on June 1, amassed more than 3.3 million views within 24 hours and sparked debate among football fans over whether it should be adopted as the tournament\u2019s official anthem.
The song gained further attention after IShowSpeed tagged FIFA on social media, requesting that it be adopted for the tournament.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
