Afrobeats star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has paid tribute to a childhood friend and former staff of his late mother, Lati, saying he played a pivotal role in his journey to music stardom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The singer made the revelation on Tuesday during a livestream with content creator Carter Efe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Davido explained that Lati was employed by his late mother and remained in the household after her passing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He added that because Lati was the youngest staff member at the time, they bonded easily.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Davido, Lati, who was into music production and DJing, was the first to introduce him to studio life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Davido said they lost touch when he was sent abroad for schooling in the U.S. around age 12 or 13.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He reconnected with Lati upon returning to Nigeria at age 14<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 30BG boss said he would tour the world with him when he succeeds in music and he later kept that promise after blowing up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Davido said Lati later joined his team, though he currently works in the oil and gas sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
