sizes=\"(max-width: 650px) 100vw, 650px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has filed a 2 billion naira suit against the EFCC over the freezing of the state&#8217;s Federal Statutory Allocation Account.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The suit, filed at the Federal High Court in Abuja, names the EFCC, its chairman, and First Bank Nigeria as defendants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Adeleke&#8217;s lawyers argue the account freeze was carried out without a valid court order, describing it as unconstitutional and a violation of due process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The plaintiffs are seeking an order to unfreeze the account and a perpetual injunction restraining further interference without due process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The EFCC had earlier confirmed freezing the account, saying it was investigating alleged fraudulent handling of about N11 billion in Ecology, Intervention and FAAC funds since March.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">President Bola Tinubu has since directed the EFCC to vacate the freeze, saying he was embarrassed by the timing of
