The Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma Chapter, has commenced a comprehensive and indefinite strike over the failure of the university authorities and Edo State Government to implement the 2025 FGN\/ASUU Agreement and pay accrued allowances from January 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a resolution issued after its Congress meeting on Monday, the union said the 14-day ultimatum given to the university and state government expired without any formal response or commitment, despite unsuccessful efforts by the union’s branch leadership to secure implementation of the agreement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The union says the strike includes withdrawal from teaching and lectures, examinations, statutory meetings and supervision of students’ research projects and industrial training.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Union also directed its executive committee to engage the media and activate a strike monitoring team.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
