{"id":849,"date":"2026-07-09T11:45:15","date_gmt":"2026-07-09T11:45:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/kufmtv.net\/?p=849"},"modified":"2026-07-09T11:45:22","modified_gmt":"2026-07-09T11:45:22","slug":"police-arraign-brothel-owner-and-twenty-nine-others-after-raid-in-delta","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kufmtv.net\/index.php\/2026\/07\/09\/police-arraign-brothel-owner-and-twenty-nine-others-after-raid-in-delta\/","title":{"rendered":"POLICE ARRAIGN BROTHEL OWNER AND TWENTY NINE OTHERS AFTER RAID IN DELTA"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"640\" height=\"359\" src=\"https:\/\/kufmtv.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/brothel.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-851\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kufmtv.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/brothel.jpg 640w, https:\/\/kufmtv.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/brothel-300x168.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Delta State Police Command has arraigned a 63-year-old proprietor of a popular brothel in Asaba, Prince Chizoba Ojokwu, alongside 29 other suspects, following an intelligence-led crime prevention and enforcement operation that targeted criminal hideouts across the State.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Command\u2019s Public Relations Officer, Bright Edafe, confirmed that Ojokwu, owner of the Brothel, was charged before the Asaba Magisterial District Court for allegedly permitting his premises to be used as a brothel and procuring women and girls for prostitution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to the police, the offences are punishable under Sections 224 and 223 respectively of the Criminal Code Law, Cap. C21, Volume I, Laws of Delta State of Nigeria, 2006.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Edafe explained that the brothel owner was among the 202 suspects arrested during the large-scale intelligence-led operation conducted on Saturday, July 4, 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The operation, led by the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of the Department of Operations, was based on credible intelligence generated by the State Intelligence Department (SID).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The coordinated raid targeted identified criminal black spots, brothels, and suspected illicit drug dens within Asaba metropolis and adjoining communities as part of the Command\u2019s sustained efforts to combat crime and improve public
