The joint FIFA and CAF fact-finding delegation has departed Nigeria for the headquarters of the world football governing body in Zurich, Switzerland after two days of consultations with key stakeholders on the crisis currently rocking the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF.
BSN Sports reports that the plane converting members of the delegation departed Nigeria at about 10 p.m Tuesday night after completing a series of meetings aimed at gathering firsthand information and assessing the situation following the mass resignation of the NFF President, General Secretary and Executive Committee members.
The FIFA and CAF officials came to Nigeria as part of efforts to find a lasting and acceptable solution to the leadership crisis and establish a clear roadmap for the administration of Nigerian football.
Upon arrival on Monday, the delegation first met with the Chairman of the National Sports Commission, Shehu Dikko, before proceeding to the NFF headquarters, where they held an extensive meeting with senior officials and staff.
