NOLLYWOOD’S ‘BLACK MARKET’ TARGETS GUINNESS WORLD RECORD WITH 50,000 PREMIERE ATTENDEES

Nigerian film production company, Rixel Studios has revealed plans to attempt a Guinness World Record with the premiere of the studio’s latest feature film, Black Market.

Black Market marks the studio’s sophomore project following their 2025 debut, Red Circle.

Written by Abdul Tijani-Ahmed, and Fatimah Binta Gimsay, ‘Black Market’ is set for release in Lagos, Nigeria with a premiere scheduled for September 26, 2026 at Tafawa Balewa Square, Lagos.

In collaboration with Filmone Studios, Siget Ring Studios and Switch Visuals Production, ‘Black Market’ will host 50,000 people for a single screening in an official Guinness World Records attempt to surpass the current record of 43,000 the largest number of people to screen a film in a single location.
