COUNTRY MUSIC ICON DOLLY PARTON DIED AFTER BATTLE WITH CANCER

Country Music icon Dolly Parton has died after a brief battle with cancer.
The 80-year-old’s death was announced Tuesday by her nephew, Bryan Seaver, on Instagram.

People magazine also reported Parton was admitted to a cancer treatment facility Friday, and had acknowledged in a recent interview with the magazine that she was dealing with some health issues.

Parton, who rose from poverty in Tennessee to become a US cultural giant with hits like Jolene and Coat of Many Colours, died at 80.

Meanwhile, President Donald Trump ordered the lowering of American flags to half-staff across the United States for a week in honor of the icon.
