NIGERIA’S FLYING EAGLES DRAW GHANA, BURKINA FASO, TOGO IN GROUP B OF WAFU B CHAMPIONSHIP

Nigeria’s Flying Eagles have been drawn in Group B of the WAFU B Under-20 Championship along with Ghana, Togo, and Burkina Faso.

The draw for the regional tournament, which serves as the qualifying competition for the 2027 Africa Under-20 Cup of Nations was held on Wednesday at the headquarters of the West African Football Union, WAFU)l Zone B in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire.

The result of the draw means the Flying Eagles and Ghana’s Black Satellites will rekindle their long-standing rivalry.

Nigeria defeated Ghana 2-1 in the final of the last edition of the competition.

Group A consists of hosts Cote d’Ivoire, Benin Republic and Niger Republic.

The competition is scheduled to hold from July 26 to August 9, 2026, in Yamoussoukro, Cote D’ivoire.

The Flying Eagles have won the last two editions of the competition.
