The Federal Government has approved an upward review of hazard allowances and other earned benefits for members of the Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions in federal universities.
Under the new package, laboratory hazard allowance for senior employees on CONTISS 6-15 will rise from N360,000 to N486,000 annually.
Employees on CONTISS 1-5 will see their allowance increase from N180,000 to N243,000 annually.
The National Salaries, Incomes and Wages Commission conveyed the approval in a circular dated July 20, following an agreement reached with NASU on June 29.
The new package takes effect retrospectively from January 1, 2026, though both figures fall short of the union’s original demands
