The House of Representatives Ad-hoc Committee investigating the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council has directed the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, to produce the agency’s disputed director-general, Adeniyi Adeyemi, before it on July 29.
The directive came as the Accountant General of the Federation, Shamseldeen Ogunjimi, told the committee his office declined a request by the PFIPC to open a Treasury Single Account over incomplete due diligence.
The controversy began after Adeyemi alleged that Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, demanded 48 per cent of the council’s N27.3 billion takeoff grant.
Gbajabiamila has denied the allegations under oath and has instituted a 15 billion Naira defamation suit against Adeyemi.
The Director-General of the Budget Office, Tanimu Yakubu, told the committee that no funds appropriated for the agency were ever released or spent, insisting the statutory conditions for spending were never met.
The Head of Civil Service of the Federation, Esther Walson-Jack, also told the committee her office did not allocate office space or deploy staff to the PFIPC.
The 12-member committee, chaired by Yusuf Gagdi, continues its investigation into how the agency was established and included in the 2026 budget.
