The Federal Government has approved the recruitment of 3 thousand, 252 verified Parent-Teacher Association teachers into the federal public service.
The approval will absorb educators who have taught in Unity and Technical Colleges for up to 25 years without permanent government appointments.
Minister of Education Dr Tunji Alausa described it as a landmark intervention addressing persistent teacher shortages in Federal Unity Colleges.
The approved teachers were verified across three cadres following a nationwide screening exercise conducted by an inter-ministerial committee.
Alausa said the regularisation exercise will be conducted transparently and in full compliance with public service rules.
