Vice President Kashim Shettima has commenced a two-week leave on Thursday, August 6, following approval by President Bola Tinubu.
His media aide, Stanley Nkwocha, said the leave marks Shettima’s first since being sworn into office and will be devoted to study, reflection and intellectual renewal.
The statement said the period will allow the Vice President to review the administration’s ongoing programmes and deepen his understanding of national and global policy issues.
The Vice President is expected to return to office and resume his official responsibilities at the end of the leave period on Thursday August 20th, 2026.
